“Steve Rickett has been the chief typesetter for over 30 years and is retiring. And as Editor of the Newspaper for the past 17 years, I feel this is the right time to call a day for me also and finally pull the curtain down on one of the oldest Newspapers still in print in the world today. Producing a weekly publication week after week for the last 17 years is no mean feat and I also feel that this is the right time for me to look forward to new ventures and free myself from the pressure of the weekly time constraints and demands. I will continue with the Racing Pigeon as a business otherwise as normal along with The UK Animal Products Pigeon Health Supplement range and as UK Bricon ETS Representatives.
We will continue to produce the informative Racing Pigeon Pictorial International as a quarterly magazine featuring the best fanciers and articles from around the globe as well as the constitutional
The RP will continue the special Doncaster show and Auction editions of the paper in November.
The RP is still available to Read For Free on our website until the final issue. Subscriptions can be delivered to your door.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Tens of thousands of readers over the years, the Advertisers and world renowned Scribes who have been dedicated and committed to making the newspaper a wonderful read, plus the Editors and many staff that have been involved with producing the paper – that except for the World War years, has never missed a copy..
I wish you all a continued enjoyable read of The Racing Pigeon
over the coming issues”
